White & Partners, the family office of the White family, which owns one of Australia’s biggest property groups, Ray White, has acquired a Sydney hotel for A$30 million. The deal involved other investors, says the AFR article.

 

Indian family office backs shoe company

Delhi-based shoe group Campus Activewear has received backing from QRG Enterprises Ltd, the family office of the Gupta family, which owns Havells, one of India’s biggest electrical equipment businesses. Other investors were also involved, say local media reports.

 

Family-backed investment group buys aquaculture business

One Thousand & One Voices, A US private capital fund backed by some of America’s wealthiest families, has acquired an aquaculture business called SanLei. The business is a trout producer located on the shores of the Katse Dam in the remote highlands of Lesotho. This transaction is 1K1V’s third investment on the African continent, adding to its two other agribusiness portfolio companies, Redsun Dried Fruit & Nuts, a raisin processor located in the Kalahari Desert, and Beefmaster, South Africa’s largest beef exporter.

Final sale details of Spanish family business

Ficosa, a Spanish auto components maker, has been sold to the Japanese group, Panasonic. The Catalan-based business was owned by the Pujol family since 1949, who had sold off various chunks of the business to Panasonic since 2015.

 

Australian beer maker Coopers brings in sixth generation

Andrew Cooper has become the first sixth-generation male of the Cooper clan to work full-time for Australia’s biggest independent brewer, Coopers, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Andrew is the son of Glenn, who is the current chairman of the Adelaide based brewer. Coopers is one of Australia’s most successful family businesses - and one of its oldest. It was founded in 1862.
