Family office deals
Breyer Capital, the private investment office of Jim Breyer, has invested in an artificial intelligence biotech startup called Paige. AI. Breyer provided all of the $25 million in a Series A funding round for the New York-based group.
Bregal Unternehmerkapital, part of the private investment empire owned by the Brenninkmeijer family, a Dutch-German dynasty, best known for its ownership of the department store C&A, has invested in Helloprint, a Dutch-based online print platform. Bregal was part of a venture round for Helloprint; the amount for the round wasn’t disclosed.
Man Capital, a London-based single-family office of the Mansour family, has invested in an Indian startup called CollegeDekho. Man was part of a venture funding round with one other investor worth a total of $2 million.
Omidyar Network, an investment office owned by the US-based Omidyar family, has invested in an India startup called Pratilipi. Omidyar was part of seven investors in a Series A funding round worth $4.3 million. The Californian-based family office has already made six investments so far this year.
Amerborgh, a Dutch family office, has invested in a fintech startup called Ohpen. Amerborgh was the only investor in the Amsterdam startup with a Series C funding round worth $25 million. Already Amerborgh has backed Ohpen with $15 million in a Series B funding round.
Jaws Ventures, the private investment office of Barry Sternlicht, the chairman of Starwood Capital Group, has invested in a New York tech group called Reonomy, which is involved in commercial real estate. Jaws backed the group with a venture round with five other investors worth $16 million in funding.
