London fambiz consultancy bought by Deloitte

Deloitte has acquired Peter Leach & Partners as the business services group attempts to raise its efforts in the family business sector.

In a statement, Peter Leach & Partners said the move: “will allow us to share our specialist expertise in family businesses, family offices and family philanthropy with a broader audience…” The price of the transaction wasn’t disclosed.

Peter Leach, together with partner Alexandra Sharpe, will move over to work for Deloitte in January next year.

“This will raise the stakes for Deloitte in the family business arena,” said a family business expert who wanted to remain anonymous. “Out of the big four accountancy firms, Deloitte were always a little bit behind in the family business area, but by acquiring Peter Leach & Partners this will give them real substance.”

Peter Leach, a former senior partner at the accountancy firm BDO, set up the London-based consultancy in 2008.
