Family office deals

ICONIQ Capital, the family office linked to Mark Zuckerberg and other tech billionaires, has led a Series E investment in Snowflake Computing. The investment is worth $270 million and represents the second investment by ICONIQ in the Californian-based cloud data warehouse group.

Strüngmann Family Office, the investment group of the Strüngmann brothers, has participated in a Series A investment in BioNTech, a German biotech group. The investment was worth $270 million and involved other unnamed family offices and institutional investors.

Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Indian-based Mahindra Group, has acquired through his family office, Mahindra Partners, a 16.7% in Bayside Sports, a Mumbai-based multi-sports academy and sports event provider. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.   

Claridge Israel, a growth technology investment partnership between Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec – one of the biggest institutional investors in North America, and Claridge Inc., the family office of Stephen R. Bronfman, has invested in AlgoSec, a network security policy management and business applications group based in the US. The venture round investment was worth $36 million.
