Persons of the Week: The Laird family – running an American business older than the US

With the US about to celebrate its 250th birthday, it’s fitting to honour the owners of a family business that has accompanied that journey – the Laird family, the owners of the eponymous business since 1698, which officially became a company in 1780, four years after the founding of the US.
