Family dynasties love owning forests – they are investing in them faster than ever

Anders Holch Povlsen, Denmark’s wealthiest person, owns more forestry land in the UK than any other private individual. The Irving family, a Canadian billionaire dynasty, own most of Maine’s forests. The Kamprad family, famous for owning IKEA, own most of Romania’s forests. Owning forestry assets, whether for commercial or conservation reasons, is more popular than ever among the world’s wealthiest and their family offices.
