Bertarelli’s family office appoints a group general counsel

Ernesto Bertarelli’s family office Waypoint has appointed Ron Cami as group general counsel; he will also take up a position on the board of directors. Cami joins Waypoint from Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he was a partner in its corporate department in Northern California and New York, leading the firm’s private equity practice.

 

Koeberle-Schmid leaves KPMG to set up own consultancy

Alexander Koeberle-Schmid has left KPMG and set up his own consultancy. He has teamed up with Maxi Unger, a family business specialist, to set up Berlin-based Koeberle-Schmid & Unger. The new consultancy will specialise in conflict resolution, succession, wealth and other matters all related to family enterprises.

 

UK family office team at EY grows

Alexander Hayward has moved to EY as the UK & Ireland family office markets leader, sitting in the global family business team. In his role, Hayward will support the delivery of EY’s consulting and thought leadership within its family business and family office advisory business.

Alexander has worked as a consultant to family businesses and family offices for the last ten years, addressing the spectrum of challenges related to growth and long-term success.  In doing so he has helped families unite their diverse business, financial, human and philanthropic legacies. He has also led family office benchmarking and enterprise risk mapping initiatives to help pool best practices and knowledge from the world’s leading families.
