Public Markets

dievini Hopp BioTech Holding, an investment group owned by Dietmar Hopp, the billionaire software entrepreneur and one of the founders of the German technology group SAP, has invested in Heidelberg Pharma, a German biotech group. dievini Hopp BioTech invested €14.4 million in the listed group. 

Unspecified Rounds

EQT Ventures, the listed venture group backed by Sweden’s Wallenberg family, has invested in Reworks, a Finland-based lifestyle games platform. EQT led the round, worth €4 million; two other investors participated.

WestRiver Group, an investment group owned by Erik Anderson, the executive chairman of Singularity University, has invested in Qorus Software, a document presentation platform. WestRiver has backed the Seattle-based group with $5 million. 

Seed 

Ruttenberg Gordon Investments, a Chicago based investment group owned by real estate developers David Ruttenberg and Jonathan Gordon, has invested in Foodie Card, a New York-based dining subscription startup. Ruttenberg Gordon led the round, worth $1.5 million; five other investors participated. 

Series A 

Leslie Ventures, an investment group owned by American entrepreneur Mark Leslie, has invested in HeartVista.ai, a medical technology company. Leslie Ventures was one of four investors committing $8.7 million to the Californian-based group. 

Soros Fund Management, George Soros’ investment group, has invested in Amply Power, Californian-based renewable energy group. Soros led the $13.2 million round along with Siemens; three other investors participated.  

Series B 

CPT Capital, the investment office of UK-based private equity specialist Jeremy Coller, together with Custos Privatstiftung, an investment office owned by Austrian billionaire Wolfgang Leitner, have invested in Innovopro, which is developing plant-based food products from chickpeas. CPT and Custos together with three other investors committed $15 million to the Israel-based group.  

Ziff Capital Partners, the investment office of the New York City-based Ziff family, has invested in Affinivax, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotech group. Ziff was one of three investors in a round worth $120 million for Affinivax. 

F-Prime Capital, the venture group backed the Johnston family, the owners of Fidelity Investments, has invested in Avalyn Pharma, a Seattle-based biotech group. F-Prime was one of six investors committing $35.5 million to the group. 

Valar Ventures, an investment group backed by Peter Thiel, has invested in Bestow, an insurance technology platform. Valar led the $50 million investment in the Dallas-based group; four other investors participated. 

Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Jack Ma backed clean energy initiative, has invested in enVerid, a Massachusetts-based clean energy and management system. Breakthrough led the $20 million round; three others participated.

Series F 

Breyer Capital, Jim Breyer’s investment group, has invested in Stash, a New York City-based fintech platform. Breyer was one of seven investors committing $112 million to Stash.
