Post-IPO Funding

Eiffel Energy Transition Fund, which is part of Paris-based Eiffel Investment Group, owned by French entrepreneur Jacques Veyrat, has invested in ReneSola, a solar energy group. Eiffel invested $12 million in the China-based group. 

Canadian billionaire Eric Sprott has invested $7.5 million in Dolly Varden Silver Corporation, a Canadian mining company. 

Secondary Market

Vulcan Capital, the Seattle-based investment group owned by Jody Allen, together with D1 Capital Partners, owned by Wall Street investor Daniel Sundheim, have invested in TransferWise, a money transfer service. D1 led the round worth $319 million, Vulcan and five others participated.  

Unspecified Rounds

Koç Holding, a Turkish multi-billionaire dollar holding and investment group owned by the Koç family, has invested in CYVision, which is developing 3D augmented reality for next-generation vehicles. Koç was one of four investors committing $5 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Casa Verde Capital, an investment group backed by US rapper Snoop Dogg, has invested in Proper, which offers sleep coaching and supplements. Casa Verde led the round for the New York City-based group worth $9.5 million, one other investor participated. 

Seed

Skip Capital, the private investment office of the Australian tech billionaire Scott Farquhar, has invested in Pyn, an employees benefit platform. Skip was one of three investors committing $2.2 million to the Australian-based startup. 

Vans Investments, an investment group owned by Indian entrepreneur Srinivas Chunduru, has invested in SnackAmor, a snack maker. Vans seeded the Indian startup with an unspecified amount.  

Tano Capital, an investment group set up and owned by Chuck Johnson, the former co-president of Franklin Templeton Investment, has invested in Cambrian Asset Management, a digital asset management group. Tano was one of four investors committing $4.2 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Series A

Kingdom Capital, an investment group based in Chesterfield, Missouri, and owned by billionaire David L. Steward, has invested in AstrumU, a Seattle-based higher education platform. Kingdom led the round worth $7.7 million, three others participated. 

GPS Ventures, a Berlin-based investment group owned by Russian entrepreneur  Georgy Semenenko, has invested in Tandem, a free mobile app that provides foreign language learning. GPS was one of four investors committing £4.5 million to the group. 

Bling Capital, Ben Ling’s investment group, has invested in WhizAI, which provides cognitive insights for life science. Bling seeded the New York City-based group with two other investors, with a total commitment of $4 million. 

Series B 

Moore Strategic Ventures, an investment group owned by billionaire hedge fund investor Louis Bacon, has invested in Thrive, a Boston-based biotech group. Moore was one of 21 investors committing $257 million to the group. 

Exor Seeds, the US-based investment group owned by the Agnelli-family, has invested in Brussels-based Cowboy, which makes electric bikes. Exor led the round worth €23 million, five other investors participated. 

Ackermans & van Haaren, a listed holding and investment company based in Belgium and owned by the Bertrand, van Baren, and van Haaren families, together with Parana Management, a holding company of Belgian tech entrepreneur and investor Guido Van der Schueren, and Manuardeo Investment Services, owned by Belgian-based Jan Leuridan and family, have invested in Indigo Diabetes. The three investors together with eleven others committed €38 million to the Belgian-based group.

Sorenson Ventures, a venture group owned by the Utah-based Sorenson family, has invested in CyCognito, a cybersecurity group. Sorenson was one of four investors committing $30 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Vulcan Capital, the Seattle-based investment group owned by Jody Allen, has invested in Polyarc, a Seattle based creative studio. Vulcan was one of three investors committing $9 million to the group. 

Zeev Ventures, an investment fund owned by US investor Oren Zeev, has invested in Explorium, a data science platform powered by augmented data group based in San Mateo, California. Zeev led the round worth $31 million; four other investors participated. 

Bling Capital, Ben Ling’s investment group,  has invested in Tempo, which designs and develops home fitness platforms. Bling was one of seven investors committing $60 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Series C 

Skip Capital, the private investment office of the Australian tech billionaire Scott Farquhar, along with Willoughby Capital Holdings, the family office of US billionaire Daniel Och, have invested in Talkdesk, a call centre SaaS platform. Skip and Willoughby along with five other investors committed $143 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Square Peg Capital, an Australian venture group backed by one of Australia’s wealthiest families, the Libermans, together with Burda Principal Investments, which is owned by German publishing billionaire Hubert Burda, have invested in StashAway, a Singapore-based wealth management platform. Square Peg led the round worth $16 million, Burda and one other investor participated. 

Moore Strategic Ventures, an investment group owned by billionaire hedge fund investor Louis Bacon, together with Section 32, a venture capital fund owned by Bill Maris, have invested in Sema4, a biotech company. Moore and Section 34 were among eighth investors committing $121 million to the US-based group. 

Square Peg Capital, an Australian venture group backed by one of Australia’s wealthiest families, the Libermans, has backed ClimaCell, a weather platform. Square Peg and other investor committed $23 million to the Boston-based group. 

Series D 

MSD Partners, an investment group owned by Michael Dell that invests with other families, has invested $35 million into BioTheryX, a New York City-based biotech group.
