Private Equity

SunGate Capital, a Florida-based investment office owned by the Haddock family, has invested in Podiatry Growth Partners, a podiatry practice management platform. SunGate was one of four investors committing an unspecified amount to the St Louis-based group. 

L Catterton, the private equity group partly owned Group Arnault, Bernard Arnault’s holding/investment group, has backed ICON Health and Fitness, a healthcare and fitness company. L Catterton was one of two investors committing $200 million to the Utah-based group.

Unspecified Rounds

EQT Ventures, the Wallenberg family-backed venture fund, has invested in Einride, a cargo and freight company. EQT Ventures was one of four investors committing $10 million to the Stockholm-based group. 

L Catterton, the private equity group partly owned by Group Arnault, Bernard Arnault’s holding/investment group, and D1 Capital Partners, an investment group founded by former hedge fund manager Daniel Sundheim, have invested in Cazoo, a developer of an online used car marketplace. L Catterton and D1 were one of 10 investors committing £240 million to the UK-based group. 

Inbox Capital, owned by the Swedish-based Wattin family, has invested in G-Loot, an esports platform. Inbox was one of three investors committing SK500 million ($56 million) to the Stockholm group. 

Omidyar Technology Ventures, owned by Pierre and Pam Omidyar, has invested in Braintrust, a blockchain-powered freelancer marketplace. Omidyar Technology Ventures was one of eight investors committing $18 million to the San Jose, California-based group. 

Meltwind Advisory, a Cambridge, UK-based investment group owned by entrepreneur Jonathan Milner, has invested in GeoSpock, a spatial big data platform. Meltwind was one of eight investors committing $5.4 million to the Cambridge-based group.   

Seed

APX, a Berlin-based venture group set up as a joint venture by family-owned Axel Springer and Porsche in 2018, has invested in QUIN, a fintech startup. APX was one of three investors committing €1 million to the Berlin-based group. 

Glaser Investments, a US investment group owned by Rob Glaser, has invested in Scener, a virtual movie theatre platform. Glaser was one of six investors committing $2.1 million to the Seattle-based startup. 

Bling Capital, Ben Ling’s investment fund, has invested in Tone, an e-commerce advertising platform. Bling was one of five investors committing $4 million to the Boston-based startup. 

Sound Ventures, an investment group owned by actor and investor Ashton Kutcher and talent manager/investor Guy Oseary, has invested in Scratchpad, a software company. Sound Ventures was one of three investors committing $3.6 million to the San Francisco-based startup. 

Peter Thiel, possibly through his investment office Thiel Capital, has invested in Doppler,  an application management platform. Thiel was one of thirteen investors committing $2.3 million to the San Francisco startup. 

Series A

Moore Strategic Ventures, Louis Bacon’s investment office, has invested in NormShield, which provides Security-as-a-Service solutions. Moore was one of three investors committing $7.5 million to the Washington DC-based group. 

Revolution, Steve Case’s investment fund, has invested in Good Buy Gear, a marketplace for secondhand baby and kids’ gear. Revolution led the round worth $6 million; three others participated in the round for the Denver-based group. 

Esther Dyson, probably through her investment group, EDventure Holdings, has invested in Abridge, a medical platform. Dyson was one of eigtht investors committing $10 million to the Pittsburg-based group. 

WestCap, an investment group owned by US-based Laurence Tosi, has invested in Cerebral, a mental health company. WestCap was one of six investors committing $35 million to the San Francisco group.  

Series B 

D1 Capital Partners, an investment group founded by former hedge fund manager Daniel Sundheim, has invested in Avail Medsystems, a medical technology company. D1 was one of two investors committing $100 million to the San Francisco-based group.  

Series C 

F3F, an Italian investment group controlled by biotech and healthcare entrepreneur Laura Iris Ferro, has invested in WISE, a Milan-based software group. F3F was one of eight investors committing €15  million to the group. 

Eldridge Industries, an investment group set up by billionaire Todd Boehly, has invested in Unqork,  a no-code enterprise application platform. Eldridge was one of 11 investors committing $207 million to the New York City-based group. 

Series D 

Mojo Partners, the family office of Malaysian billionaire Ong Beng Seng, has invested in GrubMarket, a supplier of local fresh food online. Mojo was one of 13 investors committing $60 million to the San Francisco-based group.  

Series E 

Section 32, Bill Maris’s investment fund, has invested in Dialpad, a cloud-based business phone system. Section 32 was one of seven investors committing $100 million to the San Francisco group.
