This week’s family/private investment office deals

Unspecified Round

Presight Capital, set up last year in New York City, and backed by Swiss-based Christian Angermayer’s family office, Apeiron Investment Group, has backed Razor, which says it’s a new-age global consumer holding. Presight was one of four investors committing €10 million to the Berlin-based group. 

Bellini Capital, an investment group owned by US entrepreneur Arnie Bellini, has invested in Knack, an ed-tech platform. Bellini was one of four backers committing an unspecified amount to the Tampa, Florida-based group. 

EQT Ventures, the Wallenberg family-backed venture fund, has invested in Griffin, a fintech platform. EQT was one of six investors committing £6.5 million to the London-based group. 

Secondary Market

Meyer Equity, an investment group owned by US investor Owen Meyer, has backed SpaceX with an unspecified amount. 

Seed 

Burst Capital, an investment group owned by US-based Geoff Donaker, has invested in Nana, an educational platform. Burst was one of six investors committing $6 million to the Oakland, California-based startup. 

Accanto Partners, an investment office owned by Robert Doris, has invested in Adaptilens, which is developing intraocular lens. Accanto was one of two investors committing $1.6 million to the Boston-based startup. 

Rhodium, an investment group owned by Daniel Recanati, a member of the prominent Israel-based Recanati family, has invested in Listory, a content platform. Rhodium was one of three investors committing $4 million to the New York City startup. 

Series A 

Talisman Capital Partners, an investment group owned by the Walter family based in Columbus, Ohio, has invested in Bond Vet, a provider of veterinary services. Talisman backed the New York City-based group with $17 million. 

Sorenson Ventures, a venture fund owned by the Sorenson family, has invested in GuideCX, a consumer software platform based in Utah. Sorenson led the $10 million round; four others participated.

Burst Capital, an investment group owned by US-based Geoff Donaker, has invested Northstar, a fintech platform. Burst was one of five investors committing $7.3 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Series B 

Ojjeh Family Fund, an investment group owned by the Saudi-French Oijeh family, has invested in InterVenn, a biotech group. The fund was one of six investors committing $34 million to the San Francisco-based group. 

Max Ventures, a New York City-based venture group backed by members of the Swedish Stenbeck family, has invested in K Health, a healthcare group. Max was one of six investors committing $42 million to the New York City-based group. 

Pritzker Group Venture Capital, part of the Pritzker Group, which is owned by J.B. Pritzker, has invested in Apprentice.io, a healthcare platform. Pritzker Venture was one of five investors committing $24 million to the Jersey City-based group.  

Sunwater Capital, owned by Stephany Yu, founder of a China-based real estate group, has invested in Troy Medicare, a healthcare group. Sunwater, which is based in the US, invested an unspecified amount with one other investor in the Charlotte, North Carolina-based group. 

The FR Group, a Vancouver, Canada-based family office of unknown ownership, has invested in  Amicus, a fintech platform. The FR Group led the $8.7 million investment in the Charlotte, North Carolina-based group; two other investors participated. 

Boxer Capital, an investment office owned by UK billionaire Joe Lewis, has invested in Elevation Oncology, a biotech group. Boxer was one of 11 investors committing $65 million to the New York City-based group. 

Cedar Hill Holdings, an investment office/real estate group owned by the Saunders family, has invested in Fireblocks, a Blockchain security service provider for moving, storing, and issuing digital assets. Cedar was one of seven backers committing $30 million to the New York City-based group. 

Series C 

Cota Capital, a private investment/venture group owned by US-based Bobby Yazdani, and Eldridge, an investment group owned by billionaire Todd Boehly, have invested in Truebill, a fintech platform. Cota and Eldridge joined three other investors in a round worth $17 million for the San Francisco-based group. 

Bregal Milestone, which is part of Cofra Holdings, owned by the Brenninkmeijer family, has invested in Paack, a logistics company. Bregal was one of five investors committing $53 million to the Barcelona-based group. 

H14, an investment group controlled by the Italian Berlusconi family, has invested in Forto, an online logistics group. H14 was one of eight investors committing $50 million to the Berlin-based group. 

Series D 

Access Technology Ventures, an investment group owned Russian/American investor Len Blavatnik, has invested in PingCAP, an open-source software company. Access was one of 12 investors committing $270 million to the San Mateo, California-based group.
