People Moves: Law firm hires top advisor to grow its family office business

Global law firm Dentons has hired Edward Marshall to grow its family office business as the group ups its efforts in the sector.

Marshall, who joins from bank Boston Private, will be global head of Denton’s family office and high net worth group, which was previously the law firm’s global private services group. An experienced banker, Marshall has also worked at Citigroup and Credit Suisse.

“The addition of this family office authority to our team demonstrates the importance of serving our family office and high net worth clients around the world,” said Elliott Portnoy, global CEO at Dentons.

Marshall will work alongside family office specialists Brian Raftery and Rick Ross, previously co-heads of Dentons’ global private services group and now co-chairs of the family office group.
