SPACs

A group of Swiss and German family offices are backing a SPAC targetting “Hidden Champions” in the so-called DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). More details here. 

Unspecified Rounds

Cascade Ventures, an investment group owned by Ukrainian billionaire Vitaliy Khomutynnik, has invested in sennder, a digital freight-forwarding company. Cascade invested an unspecified amount in the Berlin-based group. 

The Grantham Environmental Trust, owned by Jeremy Grantham, co-founder of the Boston-based asset management group GMO, has invested in Infinium, which offers an electrofuels solution to decarbonize the transportation sector. The Trust was one of five investors committing an unspecified amount to the Sacramento, California-based group. 

Jon Larsgården Fastighetsförvaltning, a Swedish investment group owned by real estate investor Jon Larsgården, has invested in Release Reporting, an accounting platform. The investment group was one of two investors committing SEK6.2 million to the Swedish group. 

Seed 

Peak Capital, an Amsterdam-based investment group owned by Heleen Dura van Oord, who is a member of the family who owns the huge Dutch dredging company Van Oord, has invested in Precisely, an enterprise software company. Peak Capital backed the Swedish startup with €1.7 million in seed capital.

Financiere Saint James, the Paris-based investment office of Michael Benabou, has invested in Kili Technology, a data group. Financiere Saint James was one of six investors committing €5.7 million in the Paris-based startup. 

F-Prime Capital, the Johnson family-backed venture group, has invested in Hurdle, a healthcare app startup. F-Prime was one of three investors committing $5 million to the Washington D.C.-based startup. 

Series A 

Peak Capital, an Amsterdam-based investment group owned by Heleen Dura van Oord, who is a member of the family who owns the huge Dutch dredging company Van Oord, has invested in Creative Fabrica, a graphic design platform. Peak Capital was one of three investors committing €5.7 million in the Amsterdam-based group. 

Series B 

Korys, the family investment group for the Belgium-based Colruyt family, has invested in reMYND, a biotech group. Korys was one of five investors committing €12 million to the Belgian group. 

Financiere Saint James, the Paris-based investment office of Michael Benabou, has invested in Alma, a payments platform. Financiere Saint James was one of six investors committing €49 million to the French group. 

Dorilton Capital, a New York City-based investment group believed to be owned by Hong Kong billionaire Calvin Lo, has invested in Post Acute Analytics, a healthcare group. Dorilton was one of three investors committing an unspecified amount to the Texas-based group. 

Pritzker Venture Capital, part of the Pritzker Group, which is owned by J.B. Pritzker, together with PSP Capital Partners, the private investment firm founded by Penny Pritzker, have invested in Ocient, a big data platform. The two investors along with eight other investors committed $40 million to the Chicago-based group. 

Series C

Bellini Capital, a Florida-based investment group owned by Lauren and Arnie Bellini, has invested in Marxent, a home decor group. Bellini committed $15 million to the Dayton, Ohio-based group. 

Series E 

Sienna Capital, a Luxembourg-based investment group owned by financier ian Gallienne, has invested in Globality, an enterprise application platform. Sienna was one of nine investors committing $138.3 million to the Menlo Park, Californian group.
