This week’s family/private investment office deals

Private Equity

Todd Boehly, through a consortium that likely includes his investment and holding group, Eldridge, has bought a controlling stake in Chelsea Football Club. The consortium is understood to have paid £4.2 billion for the stake.

Daniel Oliver, most likely acting through his family office Myrmikan Capital, has invested in Monetary Metals, a minerals trading platform. Myrmikan was one of two investors committing $4.5 million to the Arizona-based company.

Post-IPO Funding

The Chernin Group has invested in Funko, a toy manufacturer. The Chernin Group was one of four investors committing $263 million to the Washington State-based business.

Unspecified Rounds

SHL Capital has invested in Nova Benefits, a b2b health insurance platform. SHL has committed an undisclosed amount to the India-based startup.

WestCap has invested in Mothership, a transportation business. WestCap was one of three investors committing $76 million to the Texas-based company.

Seed

Crista Galli Ventures has invested in Anja Health, a health and wellness startup. Crista was one of nine investors committing $4.5 million to the Los Angeles-based business. Crista Galli has also invested in Lumify, an app for healthcare workers. Crista was one of six investors committing $1.3 million to the San Francisco-based startup.

L U X E M has invested in Layer, a computer games licensing startup. L U X E M was one of seven investors committing A$3.9 million to the Brisbane-based business.   

Series A

Horizons Ventures has invested in Voyage Foods, a foodtech business. Horizons was one of five investors committing $36 million to the California-based company.

Thames Trust has invested in ABAKA Holdings, a fintech platform. Thames was one of two investors committing $5 million to the London-based company.

Jemison Investment Company has invested in Conserv, an art and culture startup. Jemison was one of four investors committing $3 million to the Alabama-based business.

Regal Four has invested in Oriient, a computer software business. Regal was one of five investors committing $11 million to the Tel Aviv-based company.

EQT Ventures has invested in Moralis, a computer software company. EQT was one of four investors committing $40 million to the Stockholm-based business.

Gaw Capital Partners has invested in Gusto Collective, a software development company. Gaw Capital was one of four investors committing $11 million to the Hong Kong-based business.

Series B

Aglaé Ventures has invested in Pachama, a carbon credit platform. Aglaé was one of thirty-five investors committing $55 million to the San Francisco-based company.

F-Prime Capital has invested in Invetx, a veterinary therapeutics company. F-Prime was one of seven investors committing $60.5 million to the Massachusetts-based business.

Series C

Valar Ventures has invested in Neo Financial, a digital bank. Valar was one of seven investors committing CA$185 million to the Calgary-based startup.

Breyer Capital has invested in Evisort, an AI-powered contract management platform. Breyer was one of six investors committing $100 million to the California-based company.

WestCap has invested in Point, a proptech company. WestCap was one of nine investors committing $115 million to the California-based business.

Valor Capital Group has invested in Solfácil, a renewable energy investment platform. Valor was one of four investors committing R$500 million to the São Paulo-based business.

Series E

Bill Gates, likely acting through his investment office Gates Frontier, the Westly Group, Standard Investments, and five other funders have invested in Fictiv, a smart supply chain manufacturer. Together, they have committed $100 million to the San Francisco-based business. More details here.
